The Beth-El Center provides warmth, food and shelter for those in need each night when the temperature drops below 32 degrees during the winter months. This is a crucial support and is seen literally as a life saving program in the community.
Our No Freeze Winter shelter is now located at St. Peter's Episcopal Church at 71 River Street in Milford.
It's open from 9pm to 7am to individuals and families experiencing unsheltered homelessness during winter months with extended hours during severe cold weather as directed by the State of CT.
Cots, blankets and toiletries are provided as well as access to case management services through our Outreach and Engagement services. This program does not turn anyone away and at times will transition into a warming center model to allow for more capacity.
We also offer breakfast to our No Freeze patrons from 7-8am at our Soup Kitchen at 90 New Haven Ave.
At the Center, we offer access to public showers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday from 1:00pm -3:00pm. Sign up is required during Soup Kitchen service.
